Here's a quick tip on how to conduct the intake process for regression hypnosis. Ask the client how they would describe childhood. Then wait. Mentally, the client is going to be doing a little rewind to access the information. That can bring up emotional stuff.
You’ll get a variety of answers from clients. But when a client tells you that they had a “perfect childhood,” that's a red flag. If they say their parents were loving and they never experienced any trauma or pain, don't believe it! That’s the Conscious Mind telling you, “Nothing wrong with MY family!”
Just know to probe carefully. This is a tender area for the client. The truth is . . . everyone has stuff from childhood. Trauma is a fact of life. It either builds resilience or it knocks us out.
Traumatic experiences are an unavoidable fact of life growing up. It’s just that the Adult Mind tends to judge many of those early experiences as “no big deal.”
Remember, it’s the perceptions of the Child that, so often, generate problems for people.
Here’s what you need to know: Child Parts are feeling Parts. The problem is that children lack the maturity to be able to make sense of situations in life. But they are making decisions that can impact a person for their entire life.
Our Core Beliefs are shaped very early in life – before the formation of the Critical Faculty of the Mind. These are the beliefs that tell us who we are, what to expect from others, and what we deserve in life. They set us up with expectations of how life is going to be.
Childhood is often where the Pain Party gets started.
During the intake, ask your client to tell you about childhood. How would they describe it? What was it like? Then, listen. Listen very carefully because most of the stuff we deal with in regression sessions has roots in childhood. And everybody has unresolved stuff from childhood.
