To facilitate the Inner Child Work of regression to cause therapeutic hypnosis, you need a client who can be present and loving toward their Inner Child.
If you don't, you're going to have problems.
Before you start regressing a client back into painful events in childhood, you need to make sure that your client is prepared to support their younger self. This is why I never use the word "love" until I have tested it with the client. The way to test the "love" word is to get the client into a scene or situation with their younger self and then find out how the Adult client feels toward the Child.
Is there any love for the Child?
Sometimes the Adult consciousness of the client will reject their Inner Child. That's a problem! To do the Inner Child Work of regression hypnotherapy, you need an Adult who can be loving and accepting of the Child.
Don't proceed until you have established this by asking, "Is the Child lovable?"
If the Child is not perceived as lovable, there's a block. That block is self-rejection! Remember, the Child is a Part of the client at a younger age. If the Adult cannot say that the Child is lovable and mean it, you have just identified where the healing work needs to begin.
