When you’re dealing with an event in regression, you’re not dealing with an actual event. You’re dealing with a memory.
A memory is a Story.
This Story may or may not have any basis in fact. But the feeling is always true.
Memory isn’t based in fact. It’s based in perceptions, thoughts, and feelings. And these things have everything to do with the age the memory was formed.
The younger the Child is, the more suggestible they are. And prior to the formation of the Critical Faculty ideas are easily accepted. But they’re being accepted uncritically.
There’s nothing in place to discriminate between fact or fiction, real or imagined. So, things like misinformation and criticism can be accepted as true or fact. That’s when the party gets started.
If something really happen …. you can’t change that. But what you can change is how the client feels about it now. That changes everything.
