Trauma Releasing Exercises
Grab yourself a coffee and watch these videos because clients are going to bring their emotional baggage into their hypnosis sessions. Much of what we deal with in our hypnotherapy sessions has to do with unresolved trauma from the past. So it just makes sense to educate yourself about traumatic memory. Then you’ll be better equipped to help these folks.
There’s “BIG Trauma” and “little trauma.”
Much of what we deal with falls within the “little trauma” category. It’s the ordinary, everyday trauma everyone experiences growing up. “BIG Trauma” is an event with significant intensity. Rape. War. Car accident. Those sorts of thing.
“Little trauma” is more common. Not being able to make sense of your environment as a child is perceived as a threat. And any perceived threat while in a state of helplessness is trauma. The Subconscious Mind responds to perceptions. And it generates the same response to a traumatic experience regardless of it’s size.
Traumatic memory isn’t the problem – it serves survival. The problem is the Subconscious Mind is timeless. When a traumatic event is fully processed, it gets trapped inside the mind-body system for future reference. This makes it available for re-stimulation by events in the person’s present life.
An effective way of resolving mind-body traumatic memory is to release it physically, through the body. That’s where it’s stored and re-experienced. So it makes sense to use a body-centered approach to release traumatic memory, doesn’t it?
Hypnotherapists can benefit from learning these exercises.
There’s a wealth of information in these videos. Watch carefully as Dr. David Bercelli, author of The Revolutionary Trauma Release Process, shares exercises for releasing traumatic memory from the body.
