Are Discount Deals the Best Way to Promote Your Hypnosis Practice?

Grow Your Healing Practice

Coupon companies offer deep discounts on valuable products and services.  The provider of those goods or services receives a percentage of the proceeds.  You will make something for your time.  But it’s slave wages.  So before you start offering $29 hypnosis sessions consider this.

Discount deals could be THE WAY to promote YOUR hypnosis services -  or they could COST you.

Online coupon offers might be a viable way for you to get more clients so you can grow your business.   But you need to be very clear about how to use them.  If you’re not, they could end up costing you time and money.

Like everything, coupons serve a purpose in marketing hypnosis.  It’s up to you to be clear about what your purpose might be.   For example, if you’re just starting out, your purpose for making a coupon offer might be to get some warm bodies into your chair so you can get more experience and build your skill.

What it’s not is a smart way to make money.

Sure, you could get a flood of new “clients” and put a few dollars in your jeans, but the majority of people who take advantage of these offers are bargain hunters.  The “deal” is the only benefit they’re interested in.  So, most would never be willing to pay your usual fee.

If you need testimonials for your website and marketing material, this might be an effective way to get some.  You just need to be clear that this is a condition of the deal.  And have a strategy for collecting them.

Online Coupons are no way to make a living.

Coupons are no-cost marketing. That’s how you want to think about it. There’s no out-of-pocket expense involved to advertise your product or services.  But you must have a strategy.  That begins with being very clear about your purpose for using a coupon marketing service.

Coupon offers might be the way to go if  . . .

If you’re just starting out and need more experience, a coupon offer might be an effective way for you to get “clients” who have some financial investment in the outcome.  If you need testimonials for marketing purposes (that don’t come from your mom, best friend, and spouse) this might be a way to get them.

Just make sure you have a system in place to ensure you get what you need from the process.  If you need more clients you need to have an effective strategy for converting your single-session “customer” into a client.   In other words, when it comes to marketing hypnosis, think before you act.

Coupons are more effective for selling low-cost or no-cost products.    Examples of low-cost products include “widgets” of any sort (toys, electronic accessories, etc.); hotel stays; group tours; kayak rentals; etc.. An example of a no-cost product is a digital download product.

Hypnotist, Raveen, offered a coupon deal on his Gastric By-Pass Hypnosis program.  It included a couple of ebooks and a series of hypnosis CD’s.  he whole package was valued at $400 discounted down to $97 as “the deal.”

If you want to make money through coupon offers you need to either:

  1. Create a digital product and offer it at a significant discount (like Raveen).
  2. Convert your coupon purchaser into a regular client.

The difference between “doing” Hypnotherapy and running a Hypnotherapy business is your mindset.  It’s how you think.  And it doesn’t matter that you offer an exceptional service.  If you leave it up to the client to come back, they probably won’t.

Life happens. People get busy.  They forget – YOU.

It’s your business.  So don’t let that happen to you.

Remember – coupons might be the smart way to go.  Or they could cost you.
